Hey gang,
Im a newb when it comes to active directory.Need some insight on an issue im having when trying to create the following:
Shared dir for HR
Creating a group for access to the HR Dir
Im running a Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition box…
I need to create a shared dir for the HR group which for obvious reasons needs to be restricted. I have created a Folder on the network called Shared and then within that folder I have created the folder HR. I have shared them both and have left them with the defaulted “everyone” group.
So now I have my “SHARE” on my network with the HR sub directory within it. (I do plan on creating more departmental dir in the future (eg.Finance, Executive..etc…)
I have added the appropriate users to the HR dir but when the user tries to save a file the user gets a restricted access error. So now the only way that i can make it work is if I grant the “everyone group” full control to the “shared dir”.
I have worked on this for to many hours now and as im self tought, i have become rather annoyed with myself for not being able to figure this out.
Can somebody, anybody please help me out?
