Creative Labs fault in WindowsME

A client of mine recently upgraded from Win98se to Windows ME. Since the upgrade the Creative Labs sound card has not worked. I have tried to reinstall the drivers as well as a complete reinstall of the card but the problem exists. I read an articleabout a possible fix for this however I have since lost this. Any advice please.
