Creative PC-DVD 12X

The above unit doesn’t see a data CD when put in the tray. If I put a Music CD in, it will start the CD Player. If I put a DVD in, it starts the DVD Player. My problem is that it doesn’t see data. If there is a data CD in the tray and I reboot, it sees it but only that one time.
Any suggestions.
