Crystal Reports server X setup object with excel

Have written a report extract data from a SQLdb and also from a excel spreadsheet. This runs fine in Crystal Reports, but when I try to run the report from CMC system keeps coming asking for a username and password for the excel spreadsheet. There is no username/password on the spreadsheet. Tried putting a password on but this did not help. Any ideas?
