Cursor relocation when typing

We have Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista. This has occured to everyone and that is they start typing away and suddenly look up and realise the cursor has relocated itself to another position.

Anyone else have this occur. The application does not matter, for example when I was typing the techrepublic web address into th address line in Explorer I looked up and the cursor was not there but jumped to another area of the page.
