daisy-chain a linksys wrt54g with cnet power switch

I have a linksys wrt54g and connected a cnet power switch to expand my network. My problem is when I tried to connect my desktop(XP) to the switch, it just says acquiring or with limited connectivity, however if I am connecting a desktop with windows 98se it connects easily.

BTW, this is how I am trying to connect, 1 end of the cable if connected to slot 1 of my linksys router and the other end is slot 2 of cnet power switch using a straight cable.
