DAT Tape Drive problems

We have a 160/320 External SCSI DAT Tape Drive on a Compaq Server. WE started having problems with the tape not ejected. We had an extra tape drive so we replaced it and we are still having issues with the tape not ejecting. I have tried it from the serve and it tells me that it is ejected but it isn’t then we try it from the tape drive and the lights flash like crazy thinking it is going to eject but it doesn’t. Does anyone have any suggestions?
