Database maintenance and monitoring

Hello everyone!

I need to study about database maintenance (& monitoring) currently practices by one of the company in my country. The problem is I am new to sql server and after my presentation about the best practices for database maintenance, I have to interview the person who responsible for maintaining the company database. But I don’t know what should I ask him in the interview… Could anyone give me some suggestions?or example?
