Hi. I’m not really sure what caused this problem, because i had to fix a little issue with the keyboard. It runs WinXP (celeron), some days ago the keyboard stopped working after initialization (some keys would do it, but most of them would instead open unwanted windows, close others, also shut down sys). Didn’t do much: used another keyboard, scanned the sys, ok, tested different appl, it got fixed.
I’m sure i did not uninstalled anything.
After that i tried to connect to internet through a simple phone connection, as i always do it, with the internal modem, intel HSP56 MR. It said the modem was not responding. Checked cables, were ok. Rebooted sys, same issue. Modem was not listed in Device Management, Nic card was. On ‘phone options & Modems’, it was listed, the state was ‘missing’ (?). Tried to reinstall it, but really sounds to me like a hw issue and since i did not play with the CPU itself, I did not want to go any further without asking.
Any ideas? Could I have caused this?
Would the driver reinstallation help?
