DEFAULT PRINTERM PROBLEM

We have 1 W2K SERVER WITH SEVERAL 98 AND WIN ME CLIENTS. Server has a shared hp printer installed. One 98 client has a shared xerox laser printer thats connected to lpt1. Most clients have default printer xerox. Filemaker pro 4 is primary application used. Recently we discovered that when using filmaker pro it will not print to the default xerox prt but to the hp instead. People had to manually select the xerox prt each time . But when using other appls as word or netpad to will print to the default xerox prt. please help..
