Hi, I am a newbie studying for the CCNA,
with a question about the propagating of default routes when routing is enabled(RIPv2 OSPF, EIGRP, etc)
I have designed a network with different default routes I want to use, depending on the router (if it matters, for the switch, the default gateway is the ip of internal firewall router; for the internal firewall router the default route is the super-ip address for the proxy servers, which are configured as routers with ip forwarding; for these proxies, the default route is the ip of the external router)
Thus, I want to statically configure all default routes,
and I don’t want any of these routes propagating to the rest of the routers–I understand that the default gateway configured on a switch–which does not do routing–will not propagate??
Think the default route configured on a router is not propagated by ospf even with routing on
In fact, I think only ip default-network command propagates a default gateway–otherwise, if you want default routes propagated, you have to do some more configuring.
Please advise. Is this correct???
