Delayed write failure

Whenever I try to copy data to hitachi 80 GB external hard disk from my computer i get a error “Error – delayed write file .windows was unable to save all the data for the file E:/$Mft.The data has been lost” and after that the disk get disconnected .I tried conecting the hard disk to some other pc but the same error comes .Can anybody give me a suggestion to this problem .
