deleted programs

Just had a very spiteful person leave us. Before he left he deleted a whole bunch of programs on a computer. We hadn’t backed anything up on this workstation. We could rebuild it but there was some personal stuff from another employee though. Is there any software etc that we could use to try and get it back. Workstation is W2K
