Dell Laptop LCD Screen

I DROPPED my Dell XPS Laptop. The good news is that it still works when attached to a monitor. The bad news is that the LCD screen does not work. It appears that the screen is working since you can barely see images in the dark background. (Lite not working??) Is there any thought that the problem is ONLY the screen and that a replacement would work???

OR could it be something internal to the laptop??
