Department Size?

I would like to take a straw poll of the community here, as I was wondering if there was a direct correlation between the numbers of staff in the IT department, and the company’s turnover.

There will be a relationship, obviously, but are the staffing levels roughly consistent in end user company IT departments for a given turnover band?

For example, in my company (in the manufacturing sector, we have a turnover of roughly ?100M (GBP) and there are 7 of us in the department. Is this more, or less than other companies of equivalent size (we have about 700 employees)?
