Desktop Icon & “Favourites” deletion

Hi. I dare say this question has been asked before but here goes…

We have a network operating with a Windows 2003 Server. On a couple of PC’s (one of which happens to be mine!) we are having difficulty in deleting icons from the desktop and in my case deleting “Favouites” from my web browser.

The offending items are put into the recycle bin and deleted but when the PC is re-booted, the icons/favourites re-appear. I believe it may be something to do with the dreaded roaming profiles but I’m not sure.

Any ideas???
