I recently took over as network admin for a local office (2 servers running W2K3, 1 W2K server, 75 or so workstations running mostly XP pro, and a few W2K machines and a couple of old Win98 machines. In the event viewer logs of the W2K server, I’ve noticed error messages stating that “replication of license information failed because the license logging service on server \\servername could not be contacted.” I’ve verified that the service is running on both of the W2K3 servers. Also, the previous admin tried to set up DFS, but it never has worked correctly – will not replicate from one server to the other. I’m guessing that these problems are both related to some problem with Active Directory, but I’ve not been able to track anything down. Anybody have any suggestions/tips/ideas? Thanks,
