DHCP assigning 2 different subnets…!?

Different subnets on a SOHO client
Question? I have a dsl router connected to a switch. I also have 2 computers connected to the switch. Both can access the internet just fine. Just until recently, I could share resources as they are in the same workgroup but no I cannot see anything between the two. They are running XP Pro and configured for DHCP via my ISP (Verizon). I can see between the two boxes just fine but noticed something peculiar that I am wondering might be causing the problem. It seems the DCHP server is assigning each computer their own ip but it is also putting each computer on a different subnet. I’m guessing that’s why I can’t see the other computer. What’s your take on it? How do you think I can solve the problem? Install a Gateway server connected to the router?

Any comments are appreciated.
