I have 2 sites, both connected to each other via Intel VPN boxes. I have a user that moves between the sites. He has a Windows 2000 Pro laptop. When he sets up at home-office, he gets an IP address from DHCP server 1 (NT4), but when he moves to the new office, he has to do an ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew each time before he gets the new IP address from DHCP server 2 (NT4) (both sites are on different IP subnets, with a Router inbetween). I don’t want to make the lease expire too soon, is there another way to froce the laptop to get a new IP address each time it reboots to make this transparent to the user?
Thanks, and keep up the good work on TechRepublic.
