DHCP server IP leases does not agree with ping -a

by ronmaagero . Updated 18 years, 1 month ago

Good day, My DHCP address lease list on my 2003 server lists a computer name, but when I ping the pc the hostname doesn’t agree DHCP list.
For example:
“estimator05” PC is listed as 192.168.0.112, When I ping using McAfee Visual Trace the 112 ip address shows as “djt25621-cesron”, but yet the PC does not exist on my network and has not for over a year.

How can I get the DHCP address lease pool list to be accurate concerning ip address vs. computer name?

Thanks,
Ron Maagero
