i am having problems adding a pc to the network..(windows nt 4.0)..it has win2000 pro., the other workstations have win 98 and they are all set to auto assigned….the win 2000 is dhcp enabled as well..it will see the other pcs on the workgroup but will not see server? when i go and try to ipconfig /release i get no bound something and if i try to go ahead and renew i get dhcp server unreachable….it will not let me put the machine on a network with a domain…it says it is unavailable..it will let me put it as a workgroup…but it really is a network with a domain and not a workgroup…how can i get it to see network..and let me log onto a windows nt network, etc…what can i try to figure out what is not happening? is this the win 2000 pc problem or could it be from the server side having the problem? about 5 months ago we added a windows me pc and everything worked ok with it…any suggestions on how to troubleshoot and fix this would be greatly appreciated….
