DHCP takes forever or not at all.

Hi there,

I’ve got a network with a PDC running its domain as well as its DHCP, WINS etc.

Something weird started happening lately, it used to take max 4 seconds to get an ip address from the DHCP server, but in the last 2 weeks this has deteriorated to anything from 5 minutes to half an hour. At first it was just one or two workstations getting this but now its almost a given. I have no idea what this can be. I’ve introduced no major network changes in the last 6 months. Could it be a XP service pack that did this, faulty equipment, faulty lines etc. etc. etc.

Any ideas will be really appreciated.
