Dial In Time

I have remote users that dial into a shiva unit, we want to disconnect them if they are idle too long. However the idle time never seems to advance to anything longer than one minute.

The shiva unit has a disconnect if idle for 15 min. But it never reaches that amount of time. I was testing this with a laptop with no other software running.

I also don’t want to set it to one minute either, since this will cut off too many people.

We are using Novell 4.11, IPX/SPX and TCP/IP, and a frame type of 802.3.

Because Ethernet is a broadcast protocal, is this way the idle time doesn’t advance?
