Dial up

Hi everyone I’m looking here for help and I hope that someone can help me in my problem:
I have 2 servers(windows 2003 server)not on local network (each server in a different area),the connection between those two server is through dial up connection and I had specified range of ip’s for this dial up connection.
the problem is when dial up to second server I cant ping the sever(getting the ip of it) unless if I did one thing wich is disabling my localnetwork.
plz help me
