ERROR RECEIVED AFTER TRYING TO CONNECT:DUN could not negotiate a compatible set of network protocols specified in the Server Type settings. Check your network configurations in control panel and try again. Customer had been working fine before upgrading from win95 to win98 2nd edition….
What I did:Verified UNDER”Server Type” “Enable Software Compression” and “TCP/IP” were selected. Removed/Reinstalled “Dial Up Adapter”, “Microsoft Family Logon” and
“TCP/IP” in the network panel
-Removed Dial Up Script Temporarily
-Removed/Reinstalled the MRIS Dialer
-Removed/Reinstalled “Dial Up Networking”
-Did standard modem troubleshooting (init. strings/port settings etc..)
