Differences between Solaris 2.6 and 8.0

Hi ,
My boss wants to put me on a training course for Solaris 8 and the Solaris box we have has version 2.6. Since neither of us know much about Unix can anyone explain the main differences between the two versions and if going on a training course for v8 would be useful for v2.6. Thanks.
