There are diffrent RDP icons, they are confusing because they both do diffrent things, i had to basically create a spreadsheat to remember the dirrences between the 2. I cannot bring along the printers with the icon that has the point in the dish, the other one i can. One wil give you the picture icon(you just have to input the password) when logging into my server(2008) one makes you input user name and pass. However the one that i can bring along the printers(the dish without the point), if you save it to your desktop to access, it saves as the dish with the point and i cannot bring along the printers. The only way i could do that is if i access it from the programs menu. However, i did a system restore, and i was able to “choose what program to open with), and both of the icons were available. Without the system restore i can only choose from 1. This is from 6 new computers running xp. Dell optiplex 360’s.
