distance beetween hub/switch

hello there,

I have question regarding the distance when connection hub to switch and switch to switch. I have read that the distance between hub and switch may as long as about 300 meters. I don’t know anything about switch to switch connection.

So the question is what is the maximum distance between (hub and switch) and (switch and switch) over the UTP CAT5 cable.
