DNS and Active Directory problems

by mattrk . Updated 21 years, 2 months ago

I’m running a single domain active directory. We have a primary server that does pretty much everything. (Active directory, dns, dhcp, etc.) The problem that i’m haveing is that for some reason i can not get my dns to point the domain of ocssaints.org to my webserver. The zone is titled ocssaints.org. I can add a host callled www and point it to my webserver, but i cant get just the domain to point to the web server.

As a result, if the user types in www.ocssaints.org, its works great! But… if they type just ocssaints.org, it goes to the active directory server.

In the dns setup, i see several entries that are setup that say (same as parent directory) — 192.168.1.251 (the active directory server)

If i delet them and add one that points to my webserver, it just re adds it back.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
