Let me start of my saying I’m a programmer – I’m not a network guy. However – some recent changes have been made to our network (Windows Server 2003). Something is now wrong with DNS/DHCP communication.
DHCP is handing out new IP addresses, but DNS is not updating it’s entry. As a result, almost all entries in DNS are wrong. So unless you go into DHCP and look up the IP address, you can’t ping or unc to most computers.
My question is besides pinging and UNC, what other problems will this cause?
