DNS fundamental

hello sir,
Actually i have face problem in name resolution from one of data-card, while m trying to reach a url like “techrepublic.com” sometimes its not get resolved, but after few minutes its worked. May i know the reason behind this ?
And also i want to know how much necessary a private DNS server is, when everything is working fine by google public dns…?
