DNS Intranet problem

by blackbox98 . Updated 19 years ago

We have a 2 hive network:- BlackBox(Win2kServer domain) & mshome (ad-hoc workgroup). Recently the PCs in the domain stopped being able to see the pdc intranet (server1) via dns whilst those in the workgroup can still see it. All can still browse shares in windows explorer via unc names e.g. \\server1\data.
I can still access our intranet locally via its fixed ip address 192.168.1.10 but not http://server1. I get a DNS lookup error page.
The BlackBox domain is connected via a switch to an Orange Livebox whilst the MSHome workgroup is connected directly to the livebox. The other Pcs are all set automatically via DHCP in the range 192.168.1.11-200. There are a variety of port mappings for services in the router – all correct and route fine via our external dyndns webserver but I can’t see them internally (on the domain fork) via http://server1:xxxx. The livebox IP is 192.168.1.1. I have tried all the obvious fixes – reset router, flushdns, LMHOSTS etc….
Can anyone help? Thanks.
