DNS users keep their local profile?

I had a network set up as a workgroup, but I recently installed DNS on my Windows 2000 Server. Now when users log on to the domain, they are given the default user profile. Is there any way to have them keep their local profile? All of the users are on Windows 2000. Any help is appreciated.
