Domain controller

Unable to add a computer to domain. I get this error message that the domain controller for this domain cannot be located. How do I rectify the above.

Note that this computer was in the domain before it was taking for for repair. The repair was reinstallation of winnt. This same computer cannot ping the default gateway.I get a time out reply when I ping.
