Domain Laptop printing Workgroup printer

I have a desktop PC (windows XP SP2), in a workgroup called MSHOME, where I have a printer connected to it USB. I have shared the printer. I have a work laptop (windows XP SP2), connected to a domain where I am a power user of the laptop. I cannot print to the shared workgroup printer. Do I need to enable file and print sharing on my domain laptop? I cannot take the laptop out of the domain and add it to the workgroup.
