Domain password change breaks Outlook shared mailboxes

by thoffman@spader . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

We recently installed Windows Server 2003, Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003 and I am still learning all the administrative “stuff” that goes with that.

Our company wants to enforce a password policy that requires password changes 3 times per year. That’s fine, but…changing the domain user password is creating a huge problem in Outlook. The user can open their own mailbox fine. But, the user no longer can gain access to the other mailboxes that are shared to and configured in the Outlook profile. For one of the shared mailboxes, it prompts for user credentials before it will open. For the other 2, they show up in the navigation pane but they are not able to be opened.

Can anyone give me some insight as to what I’m doing wrong here? I thought it was just a replication timing issue but I’ve given it as much as 12 hours to correct itself but that didn’t help.

Thanks in advance to any help!!!
Todd
