I have a very frustrating situation. About 30 w98 PCS need to log on to both an NT 4 and NetWare server (for printing, etc). I just added the NT 4 server. When doing so, I did:
1) Added Clnt for MS Networks;
2) Set Clnt for MS Networks PROPERTIES to LOGIN to WINDOWS DOMAIN and set DOMAIN to “x”
3) Left PRIMARY login as Netware.
4) Made sure that USER name and password are identical (case also) on BOTH NT and Netware
5) Set IDENTIFICATION workgroup to “x” (SAME AS DOMAIN).
Here’s the problem:
Some machines login with NO problem to both NT and NETWARE. Other’s say NO DOMAIN CONTROLLER available. When I change the LOGIN TO NT DOMAIN to OFF and remove the DOMAIN name, I can then bring up the NT server via network neighborhoodwith no problem. But still can’t login if setting LOGIN TO DOMAIN back to Yes and DOMAIN = ‘x’.
Any ideas appreciated!
