Currently I have a PDC (George) that runs the office clients. I also have a BDC (Mary) that runs the computer lab and classrooms. I also have one Proxy Stand Alone Server. All these servers run on the same domain. The Proxy will say on NT4.
I want to upgrade the PDC and the BDC to Windows 2000 Server. I already have the software installed but not configured. The new domain controller (ADAM) is replacing the PDC and (EVE) is replacing the BDC.
How should I configure EVE to work with ADAM?Should I make EVE a child domain to ADAM or should EVE be a separate domain that has trust with ADAM? How will running two separate domains affect the proxy server? Are there possible IP conflicts having two different DCHP servers running on the same physical wiring, possibly giving out the same IP address?
I want the end result being that the office runs off ADAM and the lab and classrooms run off EVE but all have access to the Proxy and shared printers.
Let me know what you think.
