I am new to IT and am presently suporting around 100 PC’s that are in a Domain.
The domain is setup and Active Directory is working as should be with all users accounts setup with access to the file server. The Server(2003 R2)has DHCP & DNS setup.
The trouble i am having is i have been assigned to setup roaming profiles. I understand that i need to setup folders for profiles and redirecting folders for My Docs etc to cut down on network traffic.
The problem i have, is for some reason all the users are in workgroup (name) not in the domain in the system properties of each PC.(Win XP Pro)
Can i join them to the domain and then copy the local profile accross to the server?
Will this have any implications on them logging on to access resources?
Any help would be appreciated.
