DOS Printing Problem in Win 2K

Am running a 4-station p2p network with Windows 2K Pro. Primary application is a DOS accounting app., BPI’s ACCPAC. When I attempt to print a multi-page report from a workstation to a local printer, the DOS session freezes, even though the print job completes. The same print job will print from the workstation acting as server, plus the same report prints fine if it is redirected to the printer attached to the “server” workstation. Apparently printer management is handled by the DOS app, but if that is the case, how much of the printing task is being handed off to Windows?
