Dot Matrix Problem

I am using a new lexmark 2580 dot matrix printer. I have aligned it properly but when it prints anything it will perform an early carriage return and cut off some information. Has anyone ever seen this before? Would this be a printer or a software issue. I am printing from an AS400 software application called Warehouse Management Software or WMS.
