One of my customers is having issues mapping network drives. Basically, they are running Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Pro on the individual terminals.
The issue is related to a student login, since they have student permissions locked down to the point that they can’t even right click on the desktop or open explorer. This was done locally by another entity that maintains the network which runs a local script to change these permissions–not through Active Directory on the network.
My question is, with those types of security lock-downs, would it prevent a user from mapping a network drive? I know normally, the answer is yes, but the strange part is that it maps 1 of 2 drives but the 2nd will not map if a student is logged onto the machine. Any other type of user (admin or standard faculty) it works perfectly fine.
