Drivers for com 3 or for MS 5149 MB

Hi,
I have a system that I partitioned and formatted with W2K. The system meets the minimum requirements for W2K and then some. IThe motherboard is a Microstar model ms5149. I did not get, nor, does the customer have the cd or disks for the motherboard. The problem is that I cannot get the modem working. In DM the com ports show up as com1 and com 3 and com 3 has the yellow exclamation point indicating no drivers have been loaded. Do I need the MB disk or is there some other way to get these drivers on this system. I have uninstalled the com ports and reinstalled. I have tried to change the com ports with no success. I have tried 3 known good modems, nope.
any thoughts on how to fix this com port issue. Will reloading solve it.
