I am setting up DSL access for four clients on a network of 15 clients and two servers, the OS’s are win 98se and win2k pro. These computers are connected via a 16 port switch and a server running NT 4.x. All clients on the network need access to a proprietary program on the NT Server which is real temperamental and buggy. This proprietary program needs assigned IP addresses(I would rather not use DHCP server to assign IP addresses). I want to add DSL use the following way for security purposes:
1.) DSL modem connected to a linksys DSL router four port hub
2.) DSL router connected to a win2K pro box with software firewall
3.) Win2k pro box is the access point/gateway for all internet traffic from the select few win2k pro and win 98se clients that will have internet access.
I am using a cheap Linksys router with built in hub and attaching to a box with two nics(different brands) 1.) LAN 2.) Linksys router/WAN
Any suggestions would be appreciated since I am having a great deal of trouble configuring this with the box.
