Hi guys,
I wonder if somebody could jump in and help me here. I have acquired a DSL line with 5 static IP addresses. Now, I would like to set up my network so that each computer ultilizes 1 static IP. Here is what I got:
Currently, I ran all 5 of my computers through a router. The router was configured with a WAN IP (from my DSL provider – that’s 1 IP address). Then the router acted as a DHCP server for my network, distributing LAN IPs (such as 192.168.1.100, etc.) to the 5 computers. Therefore the outside can’t see my computer. Now, if I forward each request from the internet to each 192.168.1.x computer (i.e. HTTP web to 192.168.1.100 port 80, ftp to 192.168.1.101 port 21, etc.), the outside internet can only see the 1 WAN IP that isset up for the router. The other 4 are untouched at this moment.
I also have some hubs available. With all of my equipments, how do I set up my network to run all 5 IPs? Please jump in. Thanks a lot.
