Dual Monitor – DVI and VGA Ports Keep Burning Out

I have a computer where we have a dual monitor
setup and we are on the 3rd monitor now because
the ports seem to be frying on the back one at
a time. It started with a lightning strike
fried a VGA port, so I changed it to the DVI
port, and the monitor continued to work. Then
the DVI port failed. Changed monitors, then
the same thing happened. Eventually the VGA
port failed, then the DVI port. Thought it was
the video card – so I bought a new video card
and changed the surge protector that the
computer was hooked up to. That didn’t help
either. It has taken out a third monitor and
it is always the same monitor. Any
suggestions? I can’t keep letting this PC go
through monitors.
