Dual Monitor Setup Problem

by tristyn.g . Updated 18 years, 7 months ago

Hi all,

I want to to run dual monitors on a HP dx7200 Slim Tower Win XP 3.0ghz machine.

The computer was originally running off the onboard video – l bought a second LCD & a new GPU (GeForce 7300 LE). The new GPU is plugged in and installed and running fine.

So now l have one monitor (working now) that is running out of the GeForce GPU and a second monitor (not working) plugged into the onboard video socket. Now, the onboard video will only work when the GPU is not in the computer, regardless of if it is installed or has a monitor plugged in.

This leads me to believe that there is an option in the BIOS which tells my machine to work off the onboard video only when there is nothing present in the PCI slot. Soooo does anyone know what this is generally called – l had a poke around in the bios however l don’t look to be able to see it and before l start experimenting l thought l would seek a professional opinion!

Also l could not find any jumpers etc on the motherboard….

Any help appreciated, many thanks!!

Trist.
