I’m using two ISP’s. What I would like to do is have a dual NIC PC connect directly to the DSL modem with one NIC and serve as a bridge (not gateway) to a Wireless Linksys Router on the second NIC. On a laptop, I want to connect the wired connection to the Linksys Router so that the dual NIC PC and laptop can do windows sharing. The laptop is connected via the 2nd ISP through the wireless connection.
Once I connect the wired connection of the laptop to the Linksys router, the dual nic PC, they can share files with no problem.
However, once I do this, the Internet connection of both PC and laptop drop. It’s like the computers don’t know how to route Internet traffic.
Laptop config is as follows:
Wired IP: 192.168.1.104
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Wireless IP: 192.168.15.100
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.15.1
PC config is as follows:
NIC A IP: 192.168.1.103
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
NIC B IP: 65.x.x.x
Ultimately, I think what I need to do is to force both computers to use one particular subnet for ISP traffic and the other for Internal Network traffic.
Oh, Both computers are running windows xp pro.
