Dual Pentium 4 vs Single Xeon

I am looking to upgrade some CAD workstations that use processor intensive 3D apps. We are a small org so cost is a large factor. I am considering a dual P4 or a single Xeon config but can’t find any info on which is better. Can anyone help?
