DVD drives show up as CD drives when DVD discs are in them.

I have two DVD drives an NEC DVD+/-RW ND3530A and an HP DVD Writer 640c.

Both drives appear as DVD drives in Windows Explorer until you put a DVD disc in them when they turn into/show up as CD-ROM drives.

I’ve “uninstalled” them using Device Manager, scanned for hardware changes and ?reinstalled? them but they still appear as CD-ROM drives though both drives have DVD-R discs in them.

How do I regain the full function of the DVD drives?
